This latest major upgrade to the Asbru Web Content Management system
enables organizations to easily deliver content tailored for different
devices such as mobile phones and PCs. This release also includes
several new features for online stores and many significant
improvements for system integrators and developers.
The new version 7.1 enables organizations to easily deliver content
tailored for different devices such as mobile phones and PCs.
The content management system's flexible template system already lets
organizations build several versions of their websites. The new
functionality now enables organizations to easily configure, which
version of a website to display for specific devices.
So an organization can for example build and display a simplified
mobile friendly version of their website to mobile phone users and
another version of their website with a layout to fit larger screen
sizes to other users. The new functionality enables organizations to
configure special website versions for as many different devices as
required.
The Asbru Web Content Management system already offers extensive
e-commerce functionality including product catalogues and shopping cart
functionality. Version 7.1 of the system adds several new features for
online stores. The most important is functionality, which enables
organizations to promote their products through discounts.
The new discount functionality includes a choice of several different
discount schemes including fixed amount discounts, volume discounts and
BOGOF discounts. Discounts can also be offered during a specific period
or to specific users or user groups or only if a user presents a
discount code during checkout. The discount schemes can easily be setup
by non-technical website administrators.
Finally, the latest version of the Asbru Web Content Management system
includes many significant improvements for system integrators and
developers. A number of APIs have been added including APIs for
archiving, backup and publishing of content items to external servers.
The new version also provides an API for integration of Asbru Web
Content Management's E-Commerce features with external stock inventory
systems and other external databases, services and systems.
There is also new functionality, which makes it easy for organizations
to enable website visitors to upload images and files. This
functionality can for example be used to enable uploads of images or
files to message boards or it can be used to enable job seekers to
attach their CV to a job application. The functionality supports
automatic anti-virus checking and other processing of images and files
uploaded by website visitors.
