Perhaps you should contact me at Joomla! and I can answer your assertions. They are highly inaccurate and misleading but I'm sure if you take the time to learn something about elegant code we can help you and then some. Go on, don't be shy. Say hello.
More like spiralling into the stratosphere. Joomla! is fast becoming a benchmark of open source success. They say success brings criticism. We've had a lot of that lately and generally we don't bother to respond to inane comments. But it's nearly Christmas time I have today :P
Take care all.
Enjoy the festivities.
Not being a programmer myself, I can't comment on the code aspect.
However I have noticed, on the Joomla forum, many responses to criticisms by the dev team that were less than professional - such as the one above.

Okay, Mr Anonymous.
Still haven't heard from you. *sigh*
So while we were waiting for your insights into making Joomla better, they've managed to re-write, re-factor if you like, the entire code base.
Best bunch of people on the planet are most Joomla people.
Beta 2 they've dubbed Red Barchetta ... so I guess if there's any spaghetti to be found it's in a restaurant where the team's celebrating this milestone.
Anonymous, keep up with the moaning, you do entertain us.
