Selling and marketing a PHP-based CMS

We´re a group of PHP programmers who are thinking of creating a PHP-based CMS and put it out as a commercial product.

However, there may be a potential problem in so far as PHP-scripts are so easy to copy and manipulate by third parties.

So I wonder if there exist any general tactics for marketing and selling PHP-based products?

Any feedback would be most welcome.

Don't waste your time.  There are already too many products in this space (over 1,000) and cms is now a commodity.
