heya folks! Okay, I've got the same question that everyone else has..
"Which CMS would you recommend?" 'cept I've been doing this for quite a
while & have very specific requirements.. so before I spend the
next 3 weeks trying out various CMS packages & exploring options,
I'm curious what others would recommend.
I'm consolidating my current multitude of websites into one site. I
currently have a very active forum (IPB) which is heavily modded with
YAUWS. I've got a number of blogs.. some private, some public. I'm
about to release a new product which will need a lot of support,
downloadable files, FAQ, etc.
here's what I'd like to do: Combine everything into one site.
I'd like it to be based off the forums, where I've got specific forums
that I use as "blogs". The front page would show the most recent 6-10
posts in the "blog" forums.. people who are certain members will be
able to see certain posts.. you know, family members will see one set
of blog posts.. guests another subset.. etc.
I need to convert my current old IPB forum to whatever new forum this
one would be. The new forum needs REALLY good WYSIWYG editor, complete
with image uploading, html & BB code, etc.
It also needs to be able to have an RSS feed for the whole site, or just for individual forums.
The forums need to be multi-leveled.. so I can have sub-categories of categories.
It needs a FAQ system with the ability to submit questions, comment on the answers, etc.
The gallery I'd like to use phpFlickr so it will just be able to read stuff directly from Flickr.. no need to upload twice.
There needs to be a downloads section as well.. with searching, user submission, rating, etc.
I like a very clean theme.. so the front page looks like a blog, but the forums are tidy, and everything is well integrated.
Any suggestions and ideas?
cheers!
